Numbers
1-Ichi
2-Ni
3-San
4-Shi/Yon (depending on how it is used in context, it switches between the two.)
5-Go
6-Roku
7- Nana/Shichi (again; same as 4)
8-Hachi
9- Kyuu
10-Juu
To make 11-19= Juu+(whatever number) ex: 11= Juu-ichi
to make 20-29= Ni-Juu+(w/e #) ex: 21= ni-juu-ichi
Same goes on for the other numbers; all the way up to 99.
100-Hyaku (again; for 200= Ni-Hyaku; easy enough right? [300 is an "exception" you say San-Byaku])
1000-Sen
10,000- Man
Family Words
There are two different ways. I've noticed in animes, the characters, when they talk about their mom or call for their mom, they say "(o)kaa-san" According to my sensei and my book, this is actually saying someone else's mother! The "O" also makes it polite and is optional.
mom: haha/(o)kaa-san
dad: chichi/ (o)jii-san
OLDER sister: Ane/(O)neesan
OLDER brother: Ani/(O)niisan
YOUNGER sister: imooto/imootosan
YOUNGER brother: otooto/otootosan
Grandfather/ elderly man: Ojiisan
Grandmother/elderly woman: Obaasan (it is actually rude to say 'baasan'. That is taken like saying old lady. Think of Inuyasha talking to Kaiede (i think thats her name; havent sene it in forever) when he calls her 'old hag' or in Spirited Away when Chihiro calls the witch 'Baasan')
Uncle: Ojisan
Aunt: Obasan
Cousin: itoko
