The girl's eyes opened slowly as she looked to the sword that was aimed to her face, Aku infuriated from this played out situation found herself annoyed. As to why all this was playing this way.
"For bloody hell Griffith what are you doing"
He didn't answer, Aku's eyes sweat as she felt a wave of nervousness infiltrating her nerves as she looked at the sharp object aimed towards her, preparing to meet her doom, perhaps being cut up like a thanksgiving turkey would have been best described for such a situation, heck Aku didn't know what to think by this point it was all to surreal, and why now? Why now did Griffith consider on backstabbing her during a victorious battle, better yet why plan on killing her even after she had saved his life.
"I should have know you were going to back stab me...even after I saved your life"
The area filtered with silence as Aku's eyes looked at the blade pointed towards her face. Instead of questioning Griffith's motives, Aku breathed as her eyes shifted to the corner to look at the body circling into its own puddle of blood. She wasn't sure what to do, how to act anymore, everything that had just happened was surreal by this point and instead of pushing him away the girl's eyes only fixed into his in attempt to read into his soul. Not that was her exact intention but the woman was just as confused as he was.
"...Griffith..."
Her eyes slowly began to proceed towards her hands as she saw that the feeling of them was no longer hers, but in fact she was in the body of a woman who had nearly attempted to kill Griffith and her, she had saved his life...but in the process taken hers...and given Aku the body of a woman who was Griffith's enemy.
"Griffith, don't do this...its not what you think"

For a moment his heart softened. He was certain he had heard Aku's voice...had he...but even then... His hand trembled slightly but he quickly focused his grip. He would not show weakness not in the presence of this witch. Her eyes locked with his, the sword pointed at her. He would end her here, now. For the crimes she had committed against him. He would avenge Aku' His face steeled against her words, his heart hardened against his own thoughts. The rise and fall of his chest become more intense as his eyes burned with a growing rage. Above them the clouds became to roll in, dark...gloomy casting a dreadful eminence over the area.
She called his name and both his arms latched unto the sword raising it high above his head. Thunder crashed overhead. His eyes had grown dark. The blade now pointed down at her chest. Griffith She spoke his name again
"LIES!!" The sword plunged downwards. A flash of lightning tore through the sky and a violent gust swept across the ground. The first drop hit the ground but it fell not from the sky, but from the figured hunched over the girl, his fingers still wrapped around the hilt of the sword. Another drop, this time the sky echoed his pain and the rain began a solemn descent. The blade of the sword was lodged in the ground next to woman's head and Griffith, on both knees, hunched over her, still holding on to the sword as the rain began to pelt against his back.

The sword raised, lightning flashed, and all Aku could see now was her life flashing before her eyes as she watched the man cry out, in raged. Visions like a black and white film rolled in her memories starting from the day they met, the arguements that rised, and the man that threatened her, tortured her and saved her...and the Shadow that saved her back at the castle however; despite all that has played out, all she thought was Griffith...Griffith Alterion the man who swore to make his kingdom rise once again, the man who dedicated his life to regain the kingdom he had lost...but even though he though to selfishly, it was selfless of him to protect her. Perhaps she had been the selfish one, for only thinking about him and her...she had been selfish, her eyes watered with tears as she slowly looked away with tightly closed eyes, and turned her head away, the world went black...so it would seem, darkness had surrounded them, but instead of fighting off the sword, which she knew would have been useless to do. She stood strong and prepared for the blade to puncture her flesh. Thunder roared, and Aku closed her eyes tightly preparing to face the bloody death that was about to approach her in a matter of seconds. 'I'm sorry Griffith...' she thought before feeling her bottom fall to the ground. In a loud...thud. Her body absorbing the dirt that circled her, but instead of feeling the life escape her body she felt a sudden warmth grow onto her body as she slowly opened her eyes.
The man had been towering her, sword in hand...and yet no damage had been seen scattered on her body. The woman's chest heaved along with his as she looked to the side. She felt her face regain color, which she had lacked due to the sudden fear of death catching up so early. She sighed...as she felt the rain drip in soft gentle drops onto her face, as it began to gain its momentum, but Aku wasn't about to question yet, the moment was to be deciphered on its own. The moment was to be cherished right now wether it would be their last or something that was meant to only make it stronger. Even though they had met just recently their bond had grown stronger, though her feelings was meant to be pushed aside even after her sudden confession a while back. The girl turned her head to look at Griffith and puffed out a loud sigh, before speaking to him.
"...Griffith..."

He stood without responding and turned around looking for the small shed, the only source of shelter around. "Come on." He stated with an emptiness in his voice. His emotions were in a malevolent state of turmoil right now. He wasn't sure what to think or what to feel but somewhere within the confusion, a part of him believed that the only way to clear the fog lay with this woman. Above him the rain poured relentlessly as if trying to wash away the events prior to its coming. Griffith relished in its attempt, though its effectiveness was in question. With his head raised to the heavens, the rain pouring down unto him, he allowed the tears to stream down his face. Today he had lost a trusted companion and what would have been a lifelong friend. He awaited the sound of her moving behind him to signal his legs to move towards shelter.

The rain like magnets hooked onto her Valkyrie armour as she looked over her shoulder to the corpse of both Flail, and Aku, wether, Flail would have survive or not...was something to be debated but her body was as good as dead can get. She looked over to Griffith who walked on as she slowly began to follow, the rain only grew heavier by this point, but the woman wouldn't bring it up. It was clear to see that Griffith didn't know what to believe anymore. Either way in the end they were sheltered by a run down shack, just the two of them. The woman felt hurt, her heart tearing from opposite sides, as she felt it beg to come out...through this time, she hadn't realise how selfish she was, theiving not being in that category. But she had hurt Griffith far to much...only to let him live, and allow him to witness her dead corpse lying, and soaking the rain that poured onto her, and Flail.
"...It was thanks to Flail...and me that you lived"
Aku said as her current bodies brown eyes turned to look up to Griffith, as she forced a smile hoping that he would look at her to acknowledge it. It was the best she could do, jokes...or argueing was something she couldn't do right now. She looked away, as she released a sigh. The rain was heavy, but all she really could focus on was the heavy tension that had built between her and Griffith, a heavy tension so thick that if she were to ever consider on taking out a butter knife, the chances of cutting it smoothly would be very high.
"...I quite certain there's a way I can retreive my body back...Griffith, if you'd just hear me out"

Griffith remained silent, even to her last word. He was seated now, hunched over. A small fire burned in a makeshift pit in the room. Something to keep them warm. Tonight was going to be a cold night. He hadn't looked up at her yet, only rubbing his hands near the flame ever so often and exhaling deeply. For a while after she spoke, the room feel into an uncomfortable silence, only the crackle of the fire between them serving as the mediator.
"I'm listening...."
His voice was gruff, slightly cracked as though he were crying but unless those tears hit the ground she would never know if he was or was not. His head never lifted and his face remained constantly shaded by his unkempt hair. Within him, something was stirring.

Aku only remained silent, she never would have assumed that they were going to be like this in fact she never knew that her bodies would have been switched around...she had brought back to life...her body was dead...but where was the Valkyrie? Aku looked off to a distance as she noticed the slight figures off into a distance beside Aku's body was Frail, and an idea emerge from the bottom of her thoughts as a wave of happiness began to swell inside of her. If she was alive...and her body switched...that could only mean on thing, the Valkyries body had switched as well. The only body there however; was Griffith's dragon Flail, Siantao had walked up to them by this point looking up at the two in its kitten form, as it brushed against Griffith aware of the tears that began to trickle down his cheeks, its paws now resting on his knees.
"...The Valkyrie's spirit had been switched as well...consider your dragon's death...that can only mean she's in Flail's body"
Aku spoke looking into the distance to the bodies, that laid in the rain before them, Aku lowered her head as she looked at him with a gentle smile as she began to speak.
"Our answer is with her, she knows what to do and say about all of this":

Griffith's heart had swollen in that moment, uncontrollably but he stifled the emotion with fervour. He shook his head and for the first time lifted his eyes slowly. His gaze was empty, cold. It was almost like he was looking through Aku rather than at her but he did not linger, his eyes soon turned to the woman outside. Two bodies still lay out in the raid. And as the thunders roared and the lightning flashed through the heavens he came to ask why. Why, if this witch's words were true, had not flail or rather the valkyrie supposedly with him had not risen from her slumber? Why had not this "Aku" given him some real proof of her claim? Why was she so far away...? The final though was his most honest. He felt alone right now, cold and soulless. Could she see it? How could she not and yet how could she claim to be that woman and look upon him like this responding only with words? Could she not feel his heart? He found himself now staring into her again. He did not even remember turning his head away but for a while now he had just sat staring, silent as the questions...emotions rummaged about his mind. How...could...she...?

"You don't believe me do you"
Aku's eyes watered, as she met Griffith's again. She felt her the words come out in a shake, as she began to shake, she wasn't sure wether she needed to be in raged, or was it wiser to cry by this point, the rain only grew heavier. Aku swallowed her sadness, as she placed a hand onto Griffith's Shoulder. Her hand was only trembling, but she wasn't going to allow her anger and sadness be expose to Griffith, not by a long shot, she looked at him as she sighed. She couldn't explain any more, there was nothing more to explain...the truth was out, and that was it.
"I'm sorry Griffith...I really am"
Her brown hair flowed so beautifully over her shoulder as she knelt on knee, her hand cupping his chin attempting to make him face her. She knew however; that he would rather look away then to a woman who had a body of slaughterer. Especially one he hated.
"...Griffith...it isn't my field to make you believe something that you wish not to believe"
She swallowed, as she opened her mouth only to release out more words that seem to tremble more by the second. It had come to the point where she couldn't control herself any longer, and with that done sadness flowed down her in large pearls, she looked away as she stood. She felt her breathe release heavier and louder, her heart torn, she wished she could have been that corpse right now, she wished she could have died...instead of switching forms.
"I know you don't trust me, and I know you won't believe me...no matter what I say Griffith, you only believe with what you see, you never look what's inside..."
Her hand trembled, she looked ahead as her eyes only dripped with more liquid. She swallowed as rage built up. Hate only became the only solution, hating herself was the price to pay. She was trapped, with Griffith torn in disbelief.
"Griffith suit yourself, you won't be the first man who doesn't believe a god damn word I have to say, come Santonio...goodbye Griffith" "Mew?"
Santonio poked from a corner as he looked towards Griffith, and back to Aku...this time following the girl off into the rain. This was perhaps the last time she would ever see Griffith...and from his behavior hating him would have been the best answer to her problem. She was telling the truth, but she couldn't hate...not him anyways, she had saved his life and has the price of this...she now had to suffer a life of distrust, and away from the one man she could have saw herself be happy with. Her hand extended grabbed the large sword that was stabbed into the ground and with ease, as her figure began to vanish within the fog that the rainy weather began to form.

*********************************** Almost One Year Later***************************
In a small village near the hills where they had parted..........
"Mr. Griffith, Mr. Griffith!" A small freckled face child ran towards him with a wide grin dimples forming in her cheeks as she ran opening her arms to seek his embrace. The man smiled dropping to his knees to catch her embrace, rising up with her in his arms and twirling her around. Several of the other villagers had begun to gather as he set her back down with a grin. "I'm surprised you recognize me, Aliyah." He spoke ruffling her short dark hair. The girl beamed up at him and another older woman came to stand behind the girl resting her hand on Aliyah's shoulder. She smiled and stared longingly into Griffith's eyes. "You've returned." She stated with a mixture of contentment and relief. Griffith scratched the back of his head with an awkward grin. "I guess it has been a while ent it." She smiled at him and picked Aliyah up from the ground. "We've missed you, all of us." She added glancing over at that small gathering around her. "And it seems you've missed civilization eh Griff old boy?!" A chorus of laughter followed a stout old man's voice as he chided Griffith on his appearance. Griffith laughed with them, rubbing his beard which had grown out since that night and subsequently in the weeks since he had left the village. His hair he had pulled into one and tied into a ponytail and his beard now covered his jaw line and framed his face as it had connected to his sideburns. As the laughter died, he reached behind him and hauled the large bag he had been carrying. "It was worth it though." The crowd gathered closer as Griffith unveiled the contents of the bag, food rations, tools , clothes and other items. "Now there's no need for everyone to up and leave." Aliyah jumped down from her mother's arms and ran to him , hugging him again. "Thank you sooo much Mr. Griffith!" She chimed. "Now you can stay with mommy and me too right?" Griffith looked up at the woman, finding her staring back at him, blushing slightly at Aliyah's boldness. She broke eye contact as quickly as it had been established. "Come Aliyah, let's let Mr. Griffith get some rest. I'm sure he's very tired from his trip." Aliyah half pouted but obeyed her mother's commands and dropped down from Griffith arms and took him by the hand. "Uncle and the others can take care of your stuff right Mr. Griffith. Mommy and me will take care of you. We prepared a special place for you to stay when you come back from your travels, we know how tired you must be and you don't have a wife or anything to take care of you - "Aliyah!" The woman scolded, blushing again as she caught Griffith's eye. Aliyah stared up at the two of them as they avoided each others gaze again. The child was no more than five but she grinned contentedly at the sight almost skipping as they continued along. Griffith though had been thrown back into a place he had tried and failed to forget ever since that night. The witch's words echoed in his head now. He saw her, Aku, Flail, Santonio.... "I'm sorry Griffith...I really am" "...Griffith...it isn't my field to make you believe something that you wish not to believe" I know you don't trust me, and I know you won't believe me...no matter what I say Griffith, you only believe with what you see, you never look what's inside..."
He sat up suddenly breathing heavily and looking around frantically. He could hear the sound of thunder and the crack of lightning. He could hear the sound of rain on the roof. In the corner he saw the woman...the witch...her words playing about his head . He saw her standing at the door, the bodies outside in the rain. He reached out to them, Flail..."Aku...." "Griffith!" His eyes shot open as he bolted up into a sitting position, breathing heavily and staring wide eyed about the room. "It's ok." She spoke comfortingly. "It's only a nightmare." Aliyah's mother stared at him wiping his damp forehead with a piece of cloth. "I heard you groaning so I came to check." She explained not waiting for Griffith to ask a question. She had done this before. It happened every time he came from traveling. The nightmares, frequent and exhausting they must be for him and that name... Aku... Who was she? She had never asked him about her or about any of the other things he spoke of during his nightmares but one thing, one name came from his lips with each occurrence. "Aku." She turned away from him and dipped the cloth she had used to wipe his forehead into a small clay bowl of water. A single lamp on a small table between them shed light about the room. Aliyah lay peacefully next to her mother. The table rest between Griffith and the duo. Straw beds on the floor provided the comfort of a night's rest. Griffith sighed and exhaled deeply. "Thank you." He finally uttered. She looked up and smiled. "Think nothing of it." Griffith sighed again and rose. She watched him. She knew this routine. Her eyes followed him as he got up and went to the door. She would feel the cold night air and hear the door close again as he ventured outside like he usually did. She had never followed him only waited for his return at daybreak.
Tonight Griffith walked.... Normally he would reach the edge of the village and stop but tonight he walked...and walked..unsure of where exactly he was heading but subconsciously that answer was obvious. His heart began to wrench as he saw it in the distance. The barn...the hill...he continued his feet feeling like lead yet still dragging his body along. He was finally able to stop at the entrance to the barn. Almost a year of being beaten by the weather and elements of time had taken its toll on the structure. He rest his hand on the wood where the door should have been hanging his head as he walked back inside. Nostalgia flooding his senses as he sat down where that stack of hay had been...where he had sat that night. He hung his head, cupped his face with his palms and closed his eyes as that night's events began to replay in his head....

From a far the sound of thunder could be heard however; the noise was frequent and constant, a red large figure was seen soaring the air shortly after a roar came following and soon a large familiar beast landed by the cabin, it stood roaming as though sniffing for something and soon words began to form from his lips. Only the words that came out wasn't the language that Griffith spoke far from it, but indeed the beast was no other than Flail.
"ti wonk I, ereh s'eh" He searched, until he turned to the shack as his tail wagged with glee. It was evident to see by his behaviour this dragon wasn't behaving like the normal flail.
"tuo emoc Griffith ereh ruoy wonk I" --one year ago-- The rain was intense, fog had surrounded them and Aku in the Valkyries body left for good. The Valkyrie found herself in the dragons body. However; as she got up Griffith ran fleed and Aku's body remained lifeless, however, she picked it up and flew away, her mission now was to bring this woman back.
The dragon neared the cabin as her large yellow eyes examined the window, as words left her lips yet again.
"GRIFFITH WOHS FLESRUOY!!"

Griffith's head suddenl;y snapped up. "That voice!" His eyes went wide as thunder roared loudly in seeming protest, then he heard it again. Griffith scrambled to his feet at first he moved to the door then stopped and began backing away. He had not yet looked outside but at his nearing the door , a bolt of light ripped through the sky and he was sure that he saw their bodies again, lying on the ground...lifeless...Was this really happening? Was he going insane? He staggered back and stumbled over, squeezing his head in his palms as if to shut out the thoughts, the words and the memories.

"EMOC TUO!!"
The dragon growled as its walking body caused the surrounding areas to shake, the beast rattled the cabin. However; he refused to stop moving. She sat down as her tail wagged from opposite locations repeatedly back and forth, causing the grass surrounding them to flatten, and the beast, rested his gut onto the ground his claws resting against his elongated face, serious like any dragon. Her stance was like one of the humans, and soon the dragon resumed to speak annoyed by Griffith's staggering. This time instead of releasing her words she raised the hood of the building with the other hand, her eyes looking down at the man.
"dlihc gib a ekil gniyrc eb uoy lliw? Griffith, uot emoc uoy lliw ro?"

Griffith felt a rush of cold air as the roof of the barn opened up. He looked up, his face snow white as his eyes locked on with the face of a ghost from his past. Griffith reached to his side to draw his weapon but felt nothing. What manner of sorcery had he fallen into. He turned back to face the dragon peering down at him. Another burst of lightning thundered overheard. Griffith felt his throat go dry. When the beast spoke again he turned to the door and bolted. He ran, heading down the hill and towards the forest. He would run and run and run and escape this nightmare. They were dead, they were all dead...these demons which plagued him...he would escape them...he would run until they disappeared.

He was wrong, they wouldn't disappear and at the end of this intense run was Santonio whom was in its beast form, it charged at him and pounced him. Knocking him back off his feet, as it transformed into a kitten, purring and pawing at his chest. Its black orbs looked into his with a gleeful shimmer. It Mewed as it awaited his response.

Griffith was taken down by the cat. Tears bathed him as he lay there with the kitten on his chest. Tonight of all nights he had been made to face the horror of his past, his own failure and inability to save the woman he loved. He covered his face in shame as the tears streamed down his face like a river overflowing his banks. He was numb yet in pain, cold yet burning with self loathing. He sat up slowly, breathing heavily and looked down at the kitten now in his lap. A frail hand reached out to it, half expecting it to suddenly disappear but instead he felt the familiar prickle of fur against his flesh. His fingers reached behind the cat's ear and gently scratched. "What's happening to me?" He thought out loud as he covered his eyes for a moment, dragging his open palm down his face to wipe off the salty tears. He exhaled and looked down at the kitten again, silent...staring...

The cat purred heavily nuzzling it's head against the palm of its hand as though reassuring him that it'll all be alright. Heavy footsteps were heard walking as the beast approached but this time approaching with hooded figure. "Yawa ninnur peek tanc uoy Griffith" Flail spoke approaching ever so slowly. Everything seemed to happen all at once as the hooded figure stood be the man reaching the blade that was strapped to her back, her face hidden behind a plain white mask that exposed a set of brown eyes "...you look like shit Griffith" the voice sounded familiar but she remained silent to see Griffins reaction.
