Wedding of the Gods
Her eyes sparkled like diamonds as her footsteps were silently echoing down the hall of Ikazuchi's temple. She looked around as she looked at the people that had decided to follow along. From what she saw the man was rich, and of course it surprised her. She smiled "wow...this guy must be totally amazing" her eyes twinkled as she said this as she brushed her orange blonde hair over her shoulder. Aku still carried a cheerful smile on her lips...
The god entered the area where Aku was waiting for him. "You have come. Your presence pleases me greatly, please make yourself comfortable." A graceful wave of his hand ushered Aku to the seat astride him.
"H-H-Hello" She managed, easing into her appointed seat. "Forgive me if my words sound like that of a naive child…” She continued, pausing as if to properly arrange her words,”…but I think my friends got lost somewhere, they were behind me only moments -“She glanced up at him briefly, turning away as her eyes caught his.
“Your friends are in the main hall.” He stated with affirmation." I have arranged for your entourage to be entertained whilst we speak. Rest assured they shall be treated with the same care that I would show you.”
Again she felt her face flush. “But why would you meet me with such honour…we have never even met…”
She did not see it but rather, felt the smile that had slipped over his lips, echo within his voice. If it were possible she was sure her cheeks, already bright pink had turned glowing red.
“Please, our time is limited hence I shall state my truest intention. I wish, Aku Tseng, for you to be my wife."
“Wife?!” She swung round to face him for the first time. “But I barely, we’ve never met, I – I"
She shook her head in negation and paused for a moment collecting her thoughts. “I am already in the hands of marriage. My hand has been given to a wonderful man.” She spoke unaware of the hollowness of her words. “Why would you wish my hand in marriage? You barely know me.”
“Your hand HAD been held to marriage but is he not dead?” He questioned. “Are you not tired of constantly fighting just to accomplish nothing? Racing from the bottom just to get to the bottom?”
She jumped slightly, her eyes looking at the hand that now rested atop her own. It was surreal, as though looking at someone else’s hand, so distant yet…
“Join me.” His words cut her thoughts. “Be my queen and we can change the world to the way things were meant to be
“Goku's not dead.” She stated ignoring the trembling in her voice, "He wouldn't leave me now.” she kept her eyes on him...
Is it me you seek to convince or are those words spoken only for your comfort?”
He would leave.” His voice commanded. “And he has already. You and I both know that he was long gone before he left. The shard of the sacred jewel only tied his remaining memories to a walking corpse. Goku, your mortal lover is gone.”
Tears began to fill her eyes as she looked up at the man that placed these words inside her head. "Goku can't die" she remarked as she looked at the floor before connecting eyes with him once again. “Father wouldn’t allow something like this to happen to me. Goku can’t die, he’s too powerful to die. He – He promised..." she felt a few tears flow down her face.
He squeezed her hand gently. "He… was but a mortal; here to protect you. Nothing more. His soul has moved on and his body is lost to the Earth. Your father wants nothing but the best for you. As do I. That man… Goku, is gone. His life on this earth is over. But it does not mean your life has to be. Dry your eyes my bride. Waste not your tears on the memories of mortal men. You were ordained by fate to serve a higher calling, to wed, to change, to mould. You and I… are destiny.”
She could not recall when last such emotions that escaped her. Actually, now that she thought about it she hadn't really 'cried' in a long time. She looked at the man once again
"Is...My father okay...with this? Should I leave the man that had died...for someone of higher power…” A shiver ran through her. She had never before spoken confirmation of Goku’s death. She never believed…she didn’t believe…did she? She was being forced into this, she didn’t want…this…did….she looked at his hand over her own, she had not moved it since he held touched her…why...? Her gaze traveled up his arm and to the face that beheld her, his grace, his poise, his very countenance echoed authority, and benevolence…She felt her face flush again. His… smile. She closed her eyes, tears seeping through the tightly squeezed lids.
Forgive me my liege," The voice of a young male broke the spell that had been cast in silence about them.
Arnovis looked to Ikazuchi then to the woman he seemed to be speaking with. Ikazuchi acknowledged his servant's words and permitted him speech via a brief nod, the first time since, her arrival that he had taken his eyes off Aku.”
"Hiroma has broken free of Bail's hold and has escaped. Permission to lead an entourage in search of him or shall we let him be for now?"
“So the vessel freed himself. No matter. Leave them be. A new task is required of you.”
As you wish my liege.” Arnovis bowed respectfully, awaiting further orders. Go forth and prepare a present for my Queen. We shall be wed in the gardens of Celestia. Take and promote whomever you wish".
“As you wish my liege.” Arnovis rose and retreated.
The god then returned his attention to his bride, his free hand lifted to her cheek, one finger drying the tears accumulating there. Aku’s breath caught in her throat as he touched her cheek. She closed her eyes. “Your father not only approves but has already left his court to be with us…here." He cupped her chin gently and without thought she found herself relishing in the warmth of his touch. A soft moan escaped her lips. She gasped, opening her eyes. What was she doing…?” Another tear leaked past her lids. Ikazuchi leaned closer. “This is not the time for tears, my queen.” Her lips quivered as his breath brushed along them. “He is gone.” Her eyes slid close as she felt him move. “But I am here."
Two small heads peered from behind the wall outside the room.
“Teehee, master is very charming isn’t he.” The blue haired female giggled covering her mouth as she watched the two share their first kiss.
“That woman is nothing but a cheap whore.” The redhead shot back, her brown eyes glowering with disgust but unable to tear themselves away from the scene.
“That "whore’s" going to be your new queen Katsuki, you shouldn’t speak ill of the master’s bride.”
“Lord Ikazuchi is my master, his plaything is nothing more than that, a cheap.... plaything. When he is finished with her, she’ll be tossed to the side like the worthless –
“Katsuki!” Her friend’s hand slapped over Katuski’s mouth. She pouted and waved her finger in disapproval.
The redhead glared at the girl. “Hmph!” Katsuki turned away folding her hands.
